Life Changes

So, as you can imagine, life changes after you have a baby.
*A good night's sleep becomes 4 hours, not 8.
*If your shirt has a small spit up mark on it you don't mind because your shirt could be soaked.
*You get excited when diapers are on sale.
*Long showers are the new vacation!
*Your heart melts at sneezes, coos, hiccups and gas.
*It takes 2 hours to get ready to leave the house.
*You have a growing understanding, appreciation and bond with other parents.
*3 FAQ's: What's your babies name? How much does she weigh? Is she sleeping through the night?
*Laundry is a daily task.
*You'd do anything and everything to stop her crying and even more to get a smile.

6 Days to D-Day!

Well, hopefully. They say first timers will go past their due date. :(

We've been busy getting ready for the baby. The last 3 weekends I've gotten really good dates because I make the excuse that we won't be able to go out for a while after the baby is born. ;)

Brad's semester is coming to a close. I hope that this baby will cooperate with his schedule!

So, this was one of the cards I got at my baby shower over the weekend. How appropriate is that? We got a ton of stuff! A lof of clothes. Girls are too fun to dress, I guess. With the baby shower over it makes it seem that the baby can come any time now.

Have you ever tried to sleep wih a watermelon?

You should try it sometime. It's so fun.
So this is me at 32 weeks or 8 months. The count down is under way. (For those that may not know a full term pregnancy is considered 40 weeks.) The doctor put me at ease when he said he wouldn't let me go a week past my due date which is comforting because Brad's graduation is 2 weeks after my due date. Some days it seems like forever away but other days I realize it's next month! (at the end of the month, but still)
I can feel her move most of the time now. It's funny when I can see my stomach move. I haven't figured out what body parts I'm feeling when she moves, but it doesn't matter to me. It's my favorite thing about being pregnant.
We are working really hard to make sure everything is ready on time. We have all the big furniture (some not put together yet) and now we just need to pull it all together.

Brad Says

You know that "jerk" you usually do before you fall asleep? That's how Brad described feeling the baby move for the first time.

We finally closed on our house!
We've been working on getting the house 'renting ready'. We had to put up 15 mini blinds. (Not fun) It is now ready to show for potential renters. We hope that we can fill the house fast.

Note the picture of the banister. This is a completely different banister than the first time we did the walk through on the house. See how nice it looks?

I love this Kitchen! It's 2 to 3 times bigger than our current kitchen.

Welcome to the 21st Century, Us!

Check us out! We finally have cell phones. We decided that with the baby coming and a house to rent out, it was time to join the rest of the world and get cell phones. We've been playing with them all day. What fun!

What the...?

So, one morning last week Brad was getting in the truck to go to work and guess what he found!?! Someone had "tagged" the truck. We couldn't believe it. In the last 3 months my car has been broken into, we find beer bottles right under our tires, and now this. It's sad to think that our neighbors (who moved in a week before my car got broken into) had anything to do with this. I hope that we are wrong. They deny doing it, but wouldn't everyone?
Brad was able to get rid of the magic marker on the truck, luckily.
I just don't get why someone would do this. What do they get out of vandalizing someone else's property? It's so frustrating.

My First Post

We have finally started working on the "nursery". New Year's Eve weekend we spent our snow bound tushies cleaning out our "junk" room. An extra big trash pick up and a trip down to Goodwill opened up the room. The next weekend we picked out our theme. Light green, yellow, and teddy bears. (We figure this theme will work for multiple babies, boy or girl.) Then came the painting. 'Cheers' (a bright yellow) was painted on the lower half of the nursery wall. Next weekend comes the wallpaper border. It's finally looking and feeling like a baby will soon be present in the Jones's house!
